There are a lot of things happening in March! Next week, there will be no school on Thursday, March 13, and on Friday, March 14 and there will be no school on Monday, March 17. Students will return to school on March 18 to begin the fourth quarter of school. Other important dates are listed below.

Remember to keep our Pirates safe. Slow down and use extra caution while driving on school property and in your neighborhood. We want to make sure all of our children, including yours, arrive to and from school safely.

Next week, the Pirates will have a long weekend. Plan something fun to do as a family. There are many libraries and area museums to visit. Weather permitting, visit one of the many parks in Montgomery County. Most of all, just enjoy being together.

• March 3 through March 7 - Read Across America Week;

• March 9 - Daylight Saving Time Begins, turn clocks forward one hour;

• March 12 - Third Quarter Ends;

• March 13, 14 and 17 - NO SCHOOL;

• March 18 - Fourth Quarter Begins;

• March 20 - First Day of Spring;

• March 31 through April 4 - NO SCHOOL, Spring Break, students return Monday, April 7.

School begins August 20, 2025 for the 2025-26 school year. That's just over five months away! Construction is ongoing as workers do both inside and outside work. As many as 90 workers are on site every day! There is still much to be done, but the new West Carrollton Elementary School is slated to open the doors to second, third, and fourth grade students when the new school year begins. Work is ongoing at the new Middle/High School campus site. That school is slated to open for the 2026-27 school year and will serve 7th through 12 grade students. The current freshman class will be the first graduating class from the new school.

How do you cope with stress? Middle School students learned some coping skills. Creating art, making music, doing a craft, and petting an animal are ways to reduce stress. All ages can do the coping skills and they can be done at home. Well, maybe not everything. Not everybody has a goat or other pet at home!
