Highlighting the great things happening at Harry Russell!

We have had a great start to the 2024-2025 school year! Our first quarter was used to get to know the students, establish routines, learn expectations, and hit the ground running into engaging lessons in our classrooms! Many of our students ended the quarter with acknowledgements for their achievements and leadership, great attendance, and more. We could not be more proud of our Pirate Scholars and look forward to seeing them continue to thrive in the second quarter.

We want to give a huge THANK YOU to Kona Ice from spending some time with us last month to help us celebrate our students for earning their 1st PBIS reward. Students were able to "purchase" their treats for 75 points of what they had earned throughout the month. For the month of October, students were able to participate in the "Candy Walk" as their PBIS reward.

Congratulations to Miriam and Colten who were the winners of the West Carrollton Fire Safety contest. These students were chosen based on their fire escape design.

They were joined by two students from Schnell and were treated to breakfast, tour of the fire station, and the ultimate prize....a ride to school in the fire truck! What an exciting experience this was for them and something they will never forget! We are honored to have the great support from the fire department!

The students had a great time with the Candy Walk and Pumpkin Drop on Halloween! So many fun and creative costumes were shared and great ideas to protect the pumpkin as it was dropped from the fire ladder....Always good to see their smiles :-)

In the know...

Living in Ohio sometimes limits our ability to go outside, but the fresh air is good for our souls!

Please make sure your little Pirates are dressed appropriately to go outside as long as the weather permits. If the temperature is 32 degrees or higher, and there is no precipitation, we will be going outside!

Our Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program is going strong as it aims to support every student in our school. We do monthly incentive celebrations to encourage our students to continue to "Be SAFE, Be RESPECTFUL, and Be RESPONSIBLE" each day!!

Our November Incentive Party will be "Friendsgiving." Students will be able to take a picture with a friend and be given a picture.
