happy summer

Have a great summer!

Last Day for Russell and Schnell ONLY.....MAY 28TH!

As we wrap up an incredible school year at Schnell and Russell Elementary, we want to thank our families, staff, and community for their unwavering support. This year, we witnessed tremendous academic and personal growth in our students, and we are so proud of their accomplishments.

From memorable events to meaningful learning experiences, it has truly been a fantastic year. A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated staff, whose hard work, care, and commitment made all of this possible. Your efforts have left a lasting impact on our students and school community. As we look ahead to the exciting transition into our new elementary school, we carry with us the spirit and memories that have defined Schnell and Russell.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We wish everyone a safe, restful, and joyful summer. We look forward to our future together as one school community!

Great books for the season! As students move into the summer, we want to encourage them to continue to read. These books highlight ways to remain flexible in one's thinking and adaptable to new schedules.

Adaptable Ninja

Adaptable Ninja has a hard time changing schedules and shifting to new tasks.

Find out what happens in this SEL book about developing cognitive flexibility and set shifting skills. This book works in tandem with Flexible Thinking Ninja to build executive functioning skills.

Life is hard. It’s even harder for children who are just trying to figure things out.

The new social-emotional learning children's book series, Ninja Life Hacks, was developed to help children learn valuable life skills. Fun, pint-size characters in comedic books easy enough for young readers, yet witty enough for adults.

Flexible Thinking Ninja

Flexible Thinking Ninja learns how to solve problems, be creative, and look at issues from different angles to find the best solution.

BUS SAFETY

Please take a moment to remind your child about the importance of following bus safety rules. Safe behavior on the bus such as:

-staying seated

-using kind words

-keeping hands to themselves

-listening to the driver

which all helps ensure a safe and smooth ride for everyone. The bus driver’s instructions are for their safety, and following them is essential.

Unsafe behavior can cause distractions and put students at risk. If behavior is severe, the driver may return back to the school and ask for the parent to pick up the student.

Your support in reinforcing these rules at home makes a big difference. Thank you for helping us keep all students safe on their way to and from school!

PBIS

PBIS supports every student in our school. Monthly, we do incentive parties. Students are expected to:

Be SAFE

Be RESPONSIBLE

Be RESPECTFUL

every day in the classroom, hallway, cafeteria, specials, and bus.

Points are given throughout the day that the students can use to participate in the monthly incentives. Our goal is to have EVERY student participate in the reward!

We are at the start of a new month and coming back from a break, so please remind your young pirates about Schnell and Russell's expectations!
